3. The Cary Williams benching needed to happen

Free agent CB Cary Williams played well at the start of the season. He was so sticky in coverage that he was only targeted 5 times total in Seattle’s first three games.

Since then, he’s been getting progressively worse. Even when Williams would rebound and have a decent game, he’d follow that up with a new low for his play this season.

That is what happened against this week. Williams had a decent game in coverage last week against Arizona. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but decent. He followed that up with his worst game of the season.

Williams couldn’t seem to stay with anyone today. Even 260 pound TE Vance McDonald was able to shake him and get open for a TD.

The Seahawks are finally getting healthy at CB. Shead an Burley are both playing fairly well. Jeremy Lane will be back next week as well. The Seahawks no longer need to play Williams.

It was time for him to be benched. Now we see how he responds.
