The Offensive Line Was Terrible

Seattle’s offensive line has spent six of the last seven games trying to convince us they weren’t awful. There were successful in fooling us, but the real thing showed up today.

The worst performances were by the most experienced players. Russell Okung was was slow and could not block anyone. J.R. Sweezy got no push in the running game, and whiffed repeatedly in pass protection.

You can’t blame poor blocking on the cold.

Both of them are free set to be free agents this offseason. Both aren’t worth what it’ll take to re-sign them for next season. Seattle’s early season struggles were caused by turnover on the offensive line, and it appears that’ll be the case next year.

Long term though, that’ll pay off for the Seahawks. The status quo isn’t good enough
