Round 1

Going into this draft, a John Schneider-esque trade in round was definitely going to happen. If not in round 1, then definitely in round 2. Since none of the offensive or defensive linemen that I’d targeted were still available, dropping down in round 1 was an easy choice.

Denver moved up from 31 to 26 to get their QB. They selected Paxton Lynch with the pick, but had to give up their 2nd round pick to do so. I was more-than happy to take that pick off their hands.

Round 1, Pick 31: Shon Coleman, OT, Auburn

And so, with the final pick in Round 1, the Seahawks selected offensive tackle Shon Coleman out of Auburn. Coleman will be the day 1 starter at RT, though he has the talent to play LT eventually as well.

Seattle’s offensive line is an absolute mess. Getting a player with Coleman’s talent level to step in and play RT will be a major upgrade. He won’t fix everything, but he’ll give them a solid building block at a key position.
