5 Seahawk players who’s jobs are on the line
By Dan Viens
JUSTIN BRITT, OG
Britt has gone from second round draft pick, to starting right tackle, to starting left guard, to fighting for his life on this roster. The Seahawks selected Rees Odhiambo in the 3rd round this year and have done nothing but talk him up ever since. Schneider says Odhiambo would have been a top 45 pick if it wasn’t for his injury history. He’s being slotted at Britt’s left guard spot, and many draft analysts see him as a potentially dominant guard if he can stay healthy.
But wait, there’s more. Last year’s fourth rounder Mark Glowinski might have been the teams most promising guard prior to this year’s draft, and he’s been moved to the left side as well.
As bad as Britt looked at times last year, beating out those two young guys might be too much to overcome. The team could also save some money by cutting Britt. They would save about $500,000 against the cap this year and nearly a $1 million in 2017 if they released or traded him before the season.
