Right Guard
Starter: Germain Ifedi
Backup: Kristjan Sokoli
First round pick Germain Ifedi’s future is at right tackle. His present though is at right guard. Tom Cable wants Ifedi to spend a year at guard to help him learn and transition to the NFL. As a product of a college spread offense, bringing Ifedi along slowly probably isn’t a bad idea.
The Seahawks only have three players listed as guards on the roster. Sokoli is technically a center, but he won’t factor into the race at center this season. Instead, the former college defensive linemen is likely to spend this season working as a guard.
Sokoli is still terribly raw, but his incredible athleticism is enticing. The Seahawks will be willing to give him considerable development time before deciding on his future.
