3-Tech DT
Starter: Ahtyba Rubin
Backup: Quinton Jefferson
The Seahawks made re-signing Ahtyba Rubin a major priority this offseason, and it is easy to see why. Rubin is a versatile DT that can effectively one-gap and two-gap depending on the personnel and play call.
With Michael Bennett sliding inside to the three-tech spot in the nickel, Rubin doesn’t have a true backup. Instead, the Seahawks tend to keep a guy like rookie Qinton Jefferson in that spot.
Jefferson is an undersized pass rusher. He brings a unique set of skills to the rotation, rather than being just a lesser version of Rubin.
Next: Strongside Linebacker
