MICHAEL BENNETT IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT TO THIS TEAM:
Not that he would have played much, but Bennett’s absence due to “illness” was obvious in the first few drives for the Chiefs, who seemingly ran the ball at will against the Hawks front 7. Known for his pass-rush acumen, Bennett’s skills as a run stuffer are underrated.
Some of the struggles in the run game today could be attributed to young players in key roles up front for Seattle, and also a KC running game led by a strong O-line and a commitment to the concept. But don’t discount what a difference Bennett may have made while in there.
