October

October could be a terrible month for the Seahawks. Or a great one. They have four difficult games. If they win half of these games then Seattle will be in very good shape by the end of the season.

Week five at home versus the Los Angeles Rams, Thursday, October 3rd at 5:20 pm PT

Both teams are playing on short weeks. Seattle, of course, will be going up against the Cardinals. But the Rams play a bad team too in the Buccaneers. It could be that Ndamukong Suh tries to injure key members of the Rams. Suh signed with Tampa Bay recently and has been known as a relatively dirty player for most of his career. I hope Suh doesn’t happen hurt anyone but this is Suh I am talking about. It could happen. Either way, the Seahawks will really want this game and have the Rams at home.

Prediction: Seahawks 35 Rams 31

Week six on the road versus the Cleveland Browns, October 13th at 10 am PT

As strange as it sounds, Cleveland should be really good. Plus, the Browns are at home. And the game is at 10 am for Seattle. This all adds up to bad stuff. At least for the Seahawks it will not yet be bitterly cold in Cleveland. For Seattle to win, Tre Flowers needs to get two interceptions.

Prediction: Browns 27 Seahawks 20

Week seven at home versus the Baltimore Ravens, October 20th at 1:25 pm PT

Wow. This game is huge. Earl Thomas will return to Seattle and for the first time ever 12s will see him in person when he isn’t wearing a Seahawks uniform during a regular season game at CenturyLink. The Ravens will come into the game with an excellent defense but a limited offense. Baltimore will want to win a low-scoring, ugly game. In other words, a very early-2010s Seattle game. Russell Wilson is the better quarterback, though. Thomas gets a pick, but Seattle wins.

Prediction: Seahawks 17 Ravens 13

Week eight on the road versus the Atlanta Falcons, October 27th at 10 am PT

This will be Seattle’s second 10 am game of October and two out of three weeks.  It isn’t to win on the road in the NFL under any situation but playing at least three hours earlier than one is used to playing and winning against a good team is nearly impossible. Matt Ryan has a big day and the Falcons win.

Prediction: Falcons 31 Seahawks 23

I have Seattle going 2-2 in a very tough October. This means they would be 5-3 halfway through the season. That is a good thing.
