Wide receivers

Starters: Tyler Lockett, Jaron Brown and D.K. Metcalf

Backups: Gary Jennings, David Moore and John Ursua

Cuts: Keenan Reynolds, Amara Darboh, among others

Practice squad: Jazz Ferguson and Keenan Reynolds

This group is a question mark. They could either be really good or limit the team so much that Seattle doesn’t make the playoffs. Nearly everyone on the perceived roster has the potential to be very productive or be very underwhelming.

Let us assume Lockett will put up bigger numbers than he did in 2018 because he is going to get a lot more targets. He has yet to prove he can be a number one receiver, however. If he can be, he sets up the rest of the receiving unit. If not, the Seahawks are in trouble.

Rookie receivers usually don’t put up big numbers no matter how great they might one day be. For example, Antonio Brown is going to be in the Hall of Fame one day, but he had just 16 catches as a rookie. The point is, Seattle expecting much out of Metcalf or Jennings in their year one might be expecting too much.

Moore and Brown found a way to score touchdowns with limited targets in 2018. They need to prove they can earn Wilson’s trust, though. There is no Baldwin this season so Wilson will look for someone else to connect consistently with.
