No. 3: Safety Quandre Diggs

Since the Seahawks traded for Quandre Diggs his presence has made Seattle a much more disciplined defense. Counting the playoffs, Seattle is 5-1 in games Diggs plays in and 7-4 when he hasn’t played. Diggs wasn’t able to play in weeks 16 and 17 of 2019 and Seattle lost both games.

And the game that Diggs played in and the Seahawks lost? That was in week 14 against the Rams when Diggs still had two interceptions and ran one back for a touchdown.

Diggs is important for a bunch of reasons. One, the communication on the backend of the secondary is a lot better. Two, Diggs has the speed to cover the ground that Lano Hill and Tedric Thompson were not able to. Three, Diggs has five seasons of experience in the NFL and while rookie Marquise Blair shows promise, he isn’t at Diggs’ level yet. And finally, Diggs has experience playing against Aaron Rodgers of the Packers.

Not only does Diggs have that experience against Rodgers and Green Bay, but it is fairly good experience. In 2018, Diggs faced Green Bay twice. In week 5, he was in on 10 tackles and had 9 solo tackles. The Lions beat Green Bay 31-23. In week 17, Diggs actually had an interception of Rodgers and was in on five tackles. If he can be good again this week, it would go a long way towards a Seahawks victory.
