3 Seahawks defensive players on the bubble entering training camp

Seahawks roster bubble player two: Neiko Thorpe – CB
The Seahawks currently have 9 cornerbacks on the roster. The top 3 are clear as day, Shaquill Griffin, Quinton Dunbar and Tre Flowers. After that, it gets a little hairy.
Neiko Thorpe has been a special teams captain for several years now. He is a solid special teams player and a favorite in the locker room. It’s just with the top spots already locked up for the cornerback and a lot of talented special teams players already on the roster. How exactly does Thorpe fit into this year’s roster?
It is completely possible that the Seahawks would prioritize adding potential players behind their big 3. This would ensure Seattle has some projects to work on in case either Dunbar or Griffin leave in free agency next year. With Thorpe on the wrong side of 30, he certainly that does not fit that ideology.
The Seahawks savings from this cut would be very minimal at just $750k. However, this could open up roster spots for players like Linden Stephens, Chris Miller and Gavin Heslop. This would also give the team more time to evaluate the players in these weird times.
Seattle would miss Thorpe in the locker room. However, the team should be able to pick up his production on the field. This is more about a future investment than anything else.
