Tyler Lockett is the most underrated WR in the NFL

Year after year, Tyler Lockett produces and no one seems to talk about this guy. I get it, he isn’t the tallest and he isn’t the fastest, but he is a great football player. I know Lockett was quiet in the recent weeks after posting a huge day against Dallas in Week 3. Last night, the Lockett volcano once again erupted. Right from the get-go, the Seahawks targeted Lockett.

In what was great coverage by Patrick Peterson, Tyler Lockett somehow manages to catch this ball. He later finished the drive by scoring the first touchdown of the game. Later on in the game, Wilson hits Lockett on a beautiful moon ball for 47 yards, resulting in a touchdown.

My god, Russell Wilson, throws the best deep pass in the NFL. That ball was placed in the perfect spot. By no means, is this catch easy, as once again, Patrick Peterson is draped all over Lockett. But, Lockett makes it look easy with his soft hands. The last one on this highlight reel is the last touchdown the Seahawks scored.

I personally thought this was Wilson’s best throw of the night and Lockett’s best catch of the night. Keep in mind, this is a huge play late in the game as the Seahawks look to go up double digits. Not only is the ball beautifully thrown, but the feet work displayed by Lockett is just second to none. Not only is Lockett underrated as a pass catcher, but he is overlooked as one the more clutch WR’s to ever play the position. He does a fantastic job of locating the ball and dragging that second foot ensuring the catch.

Wilson and Lockett are one of the best duos in NFL history. It seems that every time Wilson looks his way down the field, it is completed. Lockett finish last night’s game with 15 receptions on 20 targets, for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns. It is time the media puts some respect on his name.

I am truly excited about the future of this offense when Phillip Dorsett gets inputed and Josh Gordon gets reinstated.
