5 quick Seahawks reasons to be thankful for the 2020 season so far

Here are five quick reasons to be thankful for what the Seahawks are doing so far in 2020.
Happy Thanksgiving, 12s! While you (hopefully) are getting to spend some time with family and a few friends while safely distancing on Thursday, you also get to look forward to the rest of the 2020 season for your Seattle Seahawks. Why?
Here are five quick reasons.
Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson is a great quarterback. Sure, he got off to a tremendous start this year and then suffered through a stretch of games where he had a bunch of turnovers and Seattle went 1-3. But let me ask you. Who would you rather have as your quarterback? Is Wilson a likely Hall of Famer? Yes. Has he had a winning season in every year of his career so far? Yes.
Wilson is going to lead Seattle to a lot more victories (maybe a Super Bowl or two?) before he hangs up his cleats. That’s a reason to give thanks.
The defense is getting better?
So, slowly and ever so slowly, the defense seems to be getting better, doesn’t it? The Seahawks gave up 21 points to the Cardinals in week 11 and, while they lose, just 23 points to the Rams in week 10. In fact, Seattle may have played well enough overall defensively to win the game against Los Angeles. It was the offense that suffered.
Plus, Seattle is getting healthier defensively. Shaquill Griffin should be back week 12 and 2020 second-round pick and edge rusher Darrell Taylor might see the field soon. And because the offense is pretty good, a little bit better defense might mean Seattle makes a very deep run in the playoffs this year.
Carlos Dunlap
Boom! Enter Carlos Dunlap. The fact that the Cincinnati Bengals weren’t playing him and trading him to Seattle for near-nothing just proves the Bengals are stupid. Dunlap has been a big reason the defense overall is playing better. He has 3.5 sacks, 7 quarterback hits and 5 tackles-for-loss for Seattle in three games. Seattle making an in-season trade to get Dunlap might just have changed the fortunes of the team in 2020.
Key players getting healthier
Besides the aforementioned Shaquill Griffin, who has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury (and to be fair, Tre Flowers and D.J. Reed have started to play really well without Griffin), Seattle should also get back Chris Carson this week. Carlos Hyde showed Seattle what they had been missing at running back for a few weeks when he returned in week 11 and Carson is better than Hyde.
Easy schedule the rest of the way
Unless there are more injuries, the Seahawks have very little excuse for losing in the next four weeks when they play the Eagles, Giants, Jets and Washington Football Team. While these are still NFL players on NFL teams, Seattle has a much better roster compared to any of these teams. This means, should Seattle handle their business, the Seahawks will be 11-3 entering the next to last week of the season. A number-one seed is definitely possible should Seattle take care out the trash for the next month.
