Seattle Seahawks rollercoaster review: November edition
By Jake Luppino
Where I Was Right
In the October preview of the Seahawks, I went 2/6 in my bold predictions. As I anticipated a better month in November, well, that was just wishful thinking. In my bold predictions for the month of November, I went 2/8.
Although it is a very small list, let’s take a quick look at where I was right.
- Our newest addition, Carlos Dunlap, will record 3 sacks in the month of November — I was nearly spot on with this one. Dunlap finished the month of November with 4.0 sacks.
- The Seattle Seahawks will go 2-1 in NFC West play in the month of November — the Seattle Seahawks did indeed go 2-1 in NFC West play defeating the 49ers and Cardinals while losing to the Rams.
Where I Was Wrong
Again, this doesn’t seem to be what I am best at as I once again whiffed on my November predictions. Let’s take a quick look at where I was wrong.
- Said it last month, but I am saying it again and I will be right this time. Seattle WR, Josh Gordon, will be reinstated and score his first touchdown in the month of November — The Josh Gordon situation is becoming odd. It’s December and he still hasn’t been reinstated to this point.
- LB Shaquem Griffin will record his first sack in the month of November — Grif earned himself a spot on this roster and I was overly anxious to see him take the field on 3rd and down and in 2-minute drill situations. Although he has been good as a spy, he has failed to record a sack on the season.
- SS Jamal Adams will record 1 interception and 2 sacks in the month of November — This one was 50/50 as Adams finished the month with 4.5 sacks and 0 interceptions.
- HB Rashard Penny and DE Darrell Taylor will return to the field in the month of November — This was also wishful thinking. It does seem that Penny and Taylor will make their season debut in the month of October.
- The Seahawks will trade for either DE JJ Watt or DE Ryan Kerrigan — After trading for Carlos Dunlap, the Seattle Seahawks stayed put with their defensive front.
- Russell Wilson will have over 33 touchdown passes at the end of the month — Wilson finished the month with 31 touchdowns.
