Seahawks strength of every position grouping entering the pre-season

Strength of Seahawks roster #2: Safety
The Seahawks have one of the top safety pairings in the NFL. Jamal Adams is the clear face of the defensive backs. However, Quandre Diggs is no slouch. In fact, both safeties made the Pro-Bowl last year.
Adams can do everything defensively. He can play in the box, play single-high, cover tight ends/ running backs, and of course rush the passer. He is one of the most dynamic athletes the Seahawks have on their roster.
Quandre Diggs is an unsung hero. The fact that the Seahawks acquired Diggs for just a 5th round selection is highway robbery. Diggs is a big play waiting to happen. With 13 passes defended and 8 interceptions over his first 21 games as a Seahawk. He is a stud that doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
Behind them stands the hard-hitting Marquise Blair and 2020’s pleasant surprise in Ryan Neal. The talent up top and the quality of talent behind them has the safety position in safe hands.
Another name that has been putting on a clinic in training camp is Aashari Crosswell, a UDFA out of Arizona State. He looks like the future of the free safety position. He has been making plays all over the field. This is a name fans need to remember. The guy looks like a star in the making.
The only issue that kept this unit from being on top is the contract dispute with Adams and the Seahawks. Both sides are working hard to remedy the gap in the next contract. However, time is running out and no one knows what’ll happen if the new contract isn’t reached before the season begins.
