Trade target number 1: Mekhi Becton, LT

It is not often that a player thought as highly of as Mekhi Becton during the draft process is available via trade entering just his third season. However, this is where we are.

Mekhi Becton is a mammoth of a man at 6’7″ and 365 lbs. He placed between the 81st to 98th percentile for his height, weight, arm length, hand size, and 40-yard dash. He is truly a man amongst men.

Just last season Becton was looking like the long-term answer at left tackle. His play on the field was exceptional. He destroyed his opposition and did so consistently. However, things from that point got bumpy.

Becton has since had two major injuries and struggled with weight. There have also been reports that he lacks the self-motivation to truly untap his potential. However, one could argue he was drafted to a team that has been the place individuals go to see their careers stall. This has been the case for years…

A new team is likely what is needed for both sides. The Seahawks have phenomenal players and coaches. They have the culture to help motivate players that are experiencing exactly difficulties like what Becton is.

This is a low-cost move for a player who was taken in the early part of the first round in 2020 and still has another 2-3 years of club control (depending on the 5th-year option being picked up).

Trade offer: 2022 3rd round pick, and conditional 2023 4th round pick (based on playing time could become a 3rd).
