What channel is the Seattle Seahawks Preseason Week 1 on today?
By Lee Vowell
Some semblance of the Seattle Seahawks will play the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, August 10, to kick off Seattle's 2024 preseason schedule. The team will play three preseason games before final roster cuts need to be made by Tuesday, August 27 for the team to get down to an active 53-man roster.
Preseason games are more important for guys hanging onto a roster spot instead of presumed starters.
In other words, 12s can likely assume that players such as quarterback Geno Smith (12s will probably see a lot of Sam Howell) and wide receiver DK Metcalf will not play against the Chargers. Seattle's coaching staff knows what they will get from Smith and Metcalf, but they don't know what to expect from cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett, for instance.
How can you watch the Seattle Seahawks versus the Los Angeles Chargers in Preseason Week 1?
What makes preseason games fun for football fans is that there is no stress about who wins and who loses (the games are simply glorified scrimmages) but we get to see guys playing their hardest to try to earn a roster spot. Of the 53-man roster, probably 40 spots are known. Players will be fighting it out for the final 13 or so.
What is most frustrating about preseason games is that some fans find viewing the games more difficult. Unlike seeing anything you want on the overpriced NFL Sunday Ticket, that format does not carry preseason games. Instead, most will have to stream the game on NFL+, but only if you have a subscription. At least the price of subscriptions is relatively low.
Let's say you live in the Seattle area, though. Many times you could see the Seahawks games on either KING-TV (NBC) or KIRO TV (CBS). In preseason Weeks 2 and 3, you can see the game on KING, but because of the Olympics, 12s will need to tune in on KONG-TV (channel 16) to see preseason Week 1.
12s everywhere can listen to the game on the radio, of course. In the Seattle area, people can set their radio dials to Seattle Sports 710 AM or KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM. If you live nationally, an NFL+ subscription will allow you to pick up the radio feed, but not just in preseason games because you can get the regular season games, too.
