Seahawks player to watch No. 2 - Kenneth Walker III

Kenneth Walker III will play an important role in Sunday's game against the Rams. The Seahawks need to use Walker effectively as they did in their season finale with the Rams. The best way to offset the Rams pass rush is to have a solid ground game. Which means the Seahawks will need to call on Walker early and often to be successful on offense moving the ball.

Walker did not play a single down during the preseason games, as the Seahawks desired to make sure he was healthy for the season opener. He was nursing a groin injury which nagged him during training camp, so coach Carroll decided to hold him out of preseason games. The hope is resting Walker has kept him fresh for the start of the season and ready to run wild on opening day.

Unlike with Geno, the offense is not entirely dependent on the play of Kenneth Walker III. In the Seahawks' first game against the Rams in 2022, he rushed for just 36 yards, and Seattle still won the game 27-23. However, Walker can be used as a way to protect Geno and keep the Rams' defense honest, as he showed in the season finale where he rushed for 114 yards.

Helping give Geno a reprieve from dealing with a rugged Rams pass rush. The Seahawks are hoping to get another solid performance out of Kenneth Walker III on Sunday.
