Player to Watch No. 1 - Defensive Tackle Jarran Reed

Jarran Reed has been a key part of the revitalization of the Seahawks run defense in 2023. He returned to the Seahawks after leaving in free agency back in 2021 after Seattle released him. After Reed left the Seahawks, he played one season with the Chiefs in 2021 and another with the Packers in 2022. Reed then signed with Seattle in free agency this past off-season on a 2yr/$9,000,000 contract.

The signing of Jarran Reed is already paying dividends for the Seahawks defense. Reed has seven solo tackles and 1.5 sacks so far this season (including a big sack of Panthers QB Andy Dalton in last Sunday's game). Reed played through a second-degree groin strain last Sunday and Pete Carroll said he played "the best game I've ever seen him play".

Reed's toughness was clearly on full display last week and Seattle hopes he will be ready to go again this week in their prime-time game against the Giants. Reed has proven himself to be an impact player early this season and will be a crucial part of the Seahawks defense. Reed is the veteran defensive tackle the Seahawks needed to lead a group of young defensive linemen.

After leading the Seahawks defensive line with eight total tackles (four of which were solos) in Week 3, Seattle is looking for another big performance out of Reed in Week 4. With Giants QB Daniel Jones struggling through his first three games, the Giants are going to want to run the ball more on Monday night. The Seahawks will look to continue their success against the run with Jarran Reed leading the way on the defensive line.
