Defensive line

Starters at defensive end: Ziggy Ansah and um…

Starters at defensive tackle: Poona Ford and Al Woods

Depth: L.J. Collier, Branden Jackson, Rasheem Green, Quinton Jefferson, Cassius Marsh, Jacob Martin and Barkevious Mingo

Cuts: Earl Mitchell, Nazair Jones, Jamie Meder, Bryan Mone and Jay-Tee Tiuli

Suspended for first six games: Jarran Reed

The ends are a mess. Who really is going to start opposite Ansah? And Ansah hasn’t yet even played for the Seahawks. Collier has been injured too and is a raw rookie. Martin might be solid but is too undersized to play every down. If a team is going into a season with Green, Jefferson, marsh or Mingo as one of their starting ends, that team is in trouble.

I would love it if Seattle would trade for Jadeveon Clowney because he would fix a lot of issues the Seahawks currently have. But I don’t expect that to happen.

The interior of the line is more solid even with Reed suspended. Ford has looked fantastic this preseason and I cannot wait until Reed comes back and see the Ford-Reed pairing full-time. Woods is a solid backup and should be able to help stop the run in Reed’s absence. Jefferson can bounces inside or out and help pressure the quarterback.
