Just look at our own division and you’ll see the 49ers have essentially reshaped their entire team and haven’t even brought in a significant addition. Patrick Willis and Justin Smith are gone from the defense. Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree are absent as well. Hell, they even let go of the best coach the organization has had in decades.

Add on top of that the bizarre retirement by last year’s rookie-of-the-year contender, linebacker Chris Borland, and its been one of the strangest offseasons for a team I can remember.
Organizational icons like Gore, Willis, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, LeSean McCoy, Ndamukong Suh and others have either voluntarily left or been traded from the only teams they’ve ever played with.
The Seattle Seahawks have been right there in the thick of it with their moves thus far in the new league year.
