This just happened 15 minutes ago at the Hyatt on Pine: I just got off the elevator with a minimum of 8 Kansas City Chiefs. 8 of them, and me and my friend. I jumped the line hoping to be the last guy to get into the elevator. I was, and then they held the door and made room for my buddy. Everybody has shown flashes of it: Mike Williams, Ben Obomanu, Matt Hasselbeck, Justin Forsett, Deon Butler, but two guys that seem to be missing are Carlson and Lynch. Carlson has had only 2 games with at least 5 catches. In fact he only has 25 receptions so far and a meager 254 total yard. The most troubling stat is 1 touchdown. Despite what looks to be a lopsided victory, the Seahawks offense had a great outing against one of the premiere defensive units in the league. Hasselbeck quieted his critics for the second week in a row throwing for more than 360 yards with a qb rating of 104.9. Mike Williams looked great until suffering an injury. Williams still finished with 6 catches totaling over a hundred yards. Obomanu continued to impress collecting 87 yards and 1 td. Well here we are just a few hours before kickoff in New Orleans. To tell you the truth, I am really not sure what to expect. Are the Seahawks perhaps the largest underdogs against the Saints this week? Yes. Have the Seahawks played well enough, for breif periods of time, to beat the Saints today? … well ya. Maybe? Will Russell Okung be able to help Marshawn Lynch rush for his first 100 yard game? Yes! Can the Seahawks pull this one off? I hope so. That’s the best I got.

The following is a Guest Editorial by Joe Okabe Statistics can be deceiving, especially in football. For instance, Marshawn Lynch’s stats against the Chicago Bears (17 carries, 44 yards, 1 TD) seem unimpressive. Having seen the game in person at Soldier Field, it was apparent that Lynch had a huge impact for the Seahawks’ offense. Yet one wouldn’t think so judging by his statistics. However, seeing Aaron Curry’s line in last Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals (8 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble) was a very welcome sight. Mike Williams has reason to celebrate as he passes his first milestone as a Seahawk: He now has 545 receiving yards this season which is more than his career total before Seattle, 539. It’s hard to believe that a former first round pick, 10th overall, could only gain a mere 539 yards in a career, however that is exactly what it looked like for Mike Williams.
